Saturday is National Trail Work day.

On Saturday June 4th, the Buckhorn Range Chapter will host a work party at Anderson Lake State Park. The work site is on the Savage Memorial Trail in Anderson Lake State Park. Parking is available within the park at the horse trailer parking or boat launch areas. You will need to hike down to the project site.

Please come out and haul a few loads. Lightly loaded single tire wheelbarrows are ideal. We will also have buckets. The work starts at 10 AM and runs through 3 PM. Come for an hour or two. Make sure you have gloves and good boots. Hardhats too though we have some available.

FYI: Saturday is National Trails Day by which work parties are being held throughout the nation to improve public lands trails.

Family Ride on Sunday the 29th

For those of you cyclists not heading out on spectacular Memorial Day weekend plans, please join us on our family ride. You don't even need a kid to participate! Although young riders are HIGHLY encouraged to be at this ride! Slow paced for youth, those pulling trailers and those interested in an easy ride. Here are full details of our ride:

Meet at The Broken Spoke at 10am. We will follow the Larry Scott to Frederick and Otto Street, turn onto Old Fort Townsend road. We'll stop at a nice spot at Fort Townsend for a picnic lunch, then head back. Don't forget to bring food! It will be about 12 miles and should take 45 minutes to get there and then same for the return.
Heavy wind or rain cancels.

We look forward to seeing you! Help spread the word.

Don't have a trailer or tag-along? The Broken Spoke has Chariot trailers for rental. Inquire within for prices and details.

~Cheers, and see you out on the trail!

Ladies!

May's women's mountain bike ride is set for Monday the 16th at 6ish PM. We'll meet at the Broken Spoke and head out the Larry Scott. Along the way, we'll practice some basic skills. Plan on 1.5 to 2 hours of riding. It should still be light out, but bring your lights if you have them.

I know some of you may already ride the trail, and I know it's a basic mountain bike ride... I just want to start easy and depending on how many women show; we can revise June's ride into something more intense!!

~See you next Monday night!
