For all you event junkies out there...

*Happy Winter Solstice everyone. The shortest day of the year means it's that time of season when we look at our calendars and start thinking of what we'd like to do! Here are only a few of the many options that have been brought to our attention.

*In case you haven't noticed, the North West Epic Series has posted their three race dates for the 2012 season. Their website (http://www.nwepicseries.com) says registration opens on January 1st and is likely to fill up fast.

*Another great event to add to your calendar is the 3rd annual Longest Day of Trails on June 24th, 2012. It's a race against yourself or your friends in that you're competing to ride/run/walk as many miles as you can. It's a fundraiser for local trail caretakers. For more details see their website (http://longestdayoftrailspt.wordpress.com).

*Port Townsend Bicycle Association's annual Rhody Tour will be held on Mother's Day this year, Sunday the 13th of May. This year is the 20th annual and will have new routes. See their website for more details (http://www.ptbikes.org).

*Lost in the Woods MTB Race series at our local Gibbs Lake County Park and Anderson Lake State Park will be happening again this summer. Those details are in the works and will be published as soon as they can be!

*NW Cup doesn't have their dates for 2012 up yet, but they are in the works and are a series that you should get on your calendar. See their website to check in the future (http://www.nwcup.com). Even if you don't race DH, you'll love going to an event to be a spectator!

*High Schoolers may be starting a Washington State MTB Cycling league... Their races would be amazing to support! If anyone knows more information pleaaaaase fill us in.

*Keep in mind, The Broken Spoke will be hosting a Demo-Days Event. More information to come. It's sure to be a blast, whether you ride road or mountain.

We look forward to seeing you out and about.
Have a great rest of your 2011 season!
Cheers,
The Broken Spoke Staff
