The next trail work party sponsored by the City of Port Townsend's
Non-Motorized Transportation Advisory Board will tackle some trail
clearing through a wooded section of the Grant Street Elementary School
property, on Saturday, March 15th, from 9 am to noon.
This short section of trail has some terrain and has been planned in
coordination with School and City staff. It will be an important link to
connect trails on the McClellan/Hancock corridors to the north and
Hendricks/Sherman corridors to the south.
Trail volunteers should meet at Grant Street School (with parking lots
available at each end of the school building). Equipment needed will
be: clippers, loppers, saws, pulaski's, rakes and work gloves. The
volunteer crew will work rain or shine, so be sure to dress for the
weather. Cookies, trail snacks and warm beverage will be on hand for
ravenous appetites. For more information, contact: jollywahlstrom@yahoo.com or walkers@olympus.net. This rainy weather should let up for the weekend!
