Spring prep and cleaning list

Spring has sprung, summer is almost here, and it’s time to ride! Here are a few basic maintenance tasks to keep your bike ride ready.
  • Wipe your bike’s frame and handlebar with a soft cloth.
  • Pump those tires, and take a look at the tread and sidewall for any condition issues.
  • While you’re down there, look at your brake pads, too. If they’ve collected chips and debris from riding, or reached the wear marks, it might be time to replace them.
  • Clean and lube your chain,
  • Take a test spin up and down the street to check your cables and shifting. A quick adjustment may remedy a reluctant, jumpy chain or sticky cables, or it could be time to replace them.

Did you put your two-wheeled beauty away wet and dirty after your last ride, intending to clean it later but not quite making it back to do so? Your bike might a little more attention to be ready for this year’s ride season. Bearings, chain, and cables are vulnerable to rust and corrosion. Bring your bike in for a once-over from our mechanics.

There’s no charge to have us take a look, and we’ll give you an estimate if your bike needs work. We can do most routine maintenance in a 24-hour turnaround, getting you back on your wheels in time to catch the next weather window of sunshine.
