- August 5 Tour de Lavender – Sequim The fifth annual “Tour de Lavender” takes place on August 5, 2017,
showcasing the world-loved lavender farms of the Sequim-Dungeness
Valley. You can ride easy on the scenic, cyclist-friendly Olympic
Discovery Trail to visit lavender farms and other great places. More
challenging options can take you up into the hills, along the Dungeness

- August 5 Joyce Days – Joyce, WA Every year on the first Saturday
in August, the town of Joyce, Washington holds its Wild Blackberry
Festival called Joyce Daze. The purpose of the event is to raise funds
for scholarships to local graduating seniors, emergency equipment and
other local initiatives. There is a breakfast, a parade, a craft fair,
entertainment, a pie baking contest, and games for children. Slices of
pie made from local wild blackberries are the highlight of the festival.

- August 6 Ride the Hurricane Ride
The Hurricane is a challenging recreational cycling event using the
gorgeous vista of Hurricane Ridge Road, absent of vehicles, for a round
trip ride to the top of Hurricane Ridge in the Olympic National Park

- August 20 Jefferson County All County Picnic, Chimacum This
event motivates east Jefferson County to develop resiliency through
fostering community and raising awareness about local emergency
resources. The Picnic is a chance to shake hands with local law
enforcement and elected officials, eat (free!) corn on the cob with your
neighbors and learn about the resources that exist to serve you and
your community. Featuring live music, food vendors, group games,
information booths, speakers and demonstrations, kids' activities and,
yes, free corn on the cob, this celebration is as fun as it is

- September 16 GOAT Run – Olympic Adventure Route Run
a Marathon or a Half-Marathon on the Beautiful Olympic Adventure
Trail. GOAT Run donates funds to the Peninsula Chapter of
the Backcountry Horsemen of Washington and tothe Peninsula Trails
Coalition for the construction and maintenance of the Olympic Discovery

- September 23 Big HURT – Olympic Adventure Route Consisting
of 4 race legs—mountain bike, kayak, road bike, and run—the event has
had a number of distance and location configurations over the

- September 29 Dungeness River Festival The Dungeness River Festival, Friday, September 29,
celebrates the gifts the River provides and inspires stewardship of
this crucial resource. Events and activities will be held in Railroad
Bridge Park, 2151 W. Hendrickson Road in Sequim. Admission is free.
Students and adults will enjoy more than 20 hands-on nature activities
and exhibits including fish printing, and animal pelts to touch, in
