JTC Members/Volunteers:
OK, it looks like this Friday, 6/22, at 10:00 AM is the most popular choice for our pre-Longest-Day-of-Trails (
http://longestdayoftrailspt.wordpress.com/)
work party. The task is to pull the poison hemlock from a short
section of the trail close to the entrance to Douglas Way. We will bag
it up and leave it there for the county to pick up on Monday. This is a
great time to get this done, while the soil is still moist and soft,
since the entire root must be removed to prevent it from growing back
again. Come on out even if you can only spend an hour or two. Let's get
the trail looking good for our annual fundraiser on Sunday.
Bring gloves and shovels. Wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants
and try to resist that temptation to scratch that itch on your nose
until you can get home and wash up! Coffee and snacks will be provided,
but bring your own drinks.
Douglas Way is a private road with limited parking, so let's
respect the local residents by car-pooling if possible and parking off
of their road. Thank you.
See you there,
Jeff
